I’m writing this from the road so I will have to come back and add in hyperlinks later. I hope everyone is getting ready for a big meal with people you love.
Yesterday, I picked up this year’s Compendium journal at Starbucks called The 1 Book that poses a challenge of figuring out how I am to make a difference. Last year the journal was a 5 year life plan book and it has been surprisingly helpful. I love this Cherokee story it mentions:
A Cherokee elder was teaching his children about life. He said to them, “A terrible fight is going on inside me. It is a fight between two wolves. One is the wolf of joy, love, hope, kindness, and compassion. The other is the wolf of fear, anger, cynacism, indifference and greed. The same fight is going on inside you and every other person too.” The children thought about it for a moment, and then one child asked, “Which wolf will win?” The elder replied, “Whichever one you feed.”
