Harvest Moon

When you go outside tonight, you can smell fireplaces burning. Throw blankets are out in every room. The cardigan has been on all day. Vegetable soup on the stove and I’ve been listening to Carol King’s Tapestry.
Dear God {and I mean that in a literal way, like writing a thank you note to him}, I love fall.

Since before he was my boyfriend, George has made me mix tapes every season. I cherish them. Today, I got my fall mix from George and it will be on repeat until Christmastime. {My summer 2009 mix is still disk no.1 in my car CD changer.} I don’t usually share these mixes. But, he added a remix of Jack Johnson’s Losing Keys that I had never heard before, so I’ll share it {here}. But the rest, I’ll keep just for me.

October 11, 2009 - 8:55 am Andrew - That George is such a dreamy guy!

October 11, 2009 - 9:24 am jeannette - Got soup. Got blankets. Tapestry?? I listened to that the whole time I was preg w/N! I feel the earth move . . . . . . heart

October 11, 2009 - 11:46 am George - And don't forget what a great excuse the cold weather is to sit by a window with a book (after listening intently to a great mix, of course).

October 12, 2009 - 8:57 pm Teaworthy - I've always thought so. But I'm sure Starla would say the same about you.

October 14, 2009 - 5:06 pm laura b. - oooh, i am such a sucker for mixed-tapes (or, more 2009-ish-ly, mix cds). i make them for everything...give me an excuse and i'll break a copyright law in a millisecond. [oops. don't tell.]
