Tea Time No. 25: Soup Weather – 400th Teaworthy Post!

Drinking: Earl Grey

Listening to: my daughter sing Sponge Bob’s Best Day Ever

My husband has started making croutons to go with soup this winter. He uses Mark Bittman’s recipe from How To Cook Everything Vegetarian. They are heaven in your mouth. I highly recommend pairing them with tomato basil soup from Soup Lady Jennifer Burchett which you can buy at Wine + Market at lunch time.  I love her blog, http://www.eatwellathome.blogspot.com/, too.

What’s your favorite soup recipe?

January 25, 2010 - 1:34 pm Jana - .... and now I'm hungry....

January 25, 2010 - 2:41 pm Amanda - Just had broc. cheese soup for lunch! My favorite soup is Shaker Village Tomato. Served with a dollop of unsweetened whip creme, a sprinkle of parsley and a grilled cheese, yum! I also sometimes just take a plain old can of Campbell's tomato, add milk, dried dill and a squeeze of lemon. Takes the winter blahs away in less than five minutes!

January 25, 2010 - 5:41 pm grimsaburger - White beans, tomatoes, spinach, thyme or rosemary. Parmesan on top, and an unseemly chunk of crusty bread. Sadly, this is not on the menu for dinner.

January 26, 2010 - 5:06 pm Katy Heskett Gibbs - The fav at my office is Taste of Scandinavia's Tomato Basil soup with fresh made bread. Nordic types know how to make soup to warm the soul.

January 29, 2010 - 11:56 am Tonya Harper - Chili's has a chicken, green chilli soup that is fabulous. I had it Monday for lunch and can't stop thinking about it. I think I'm going to google it and see if I can recreate it. If not, then it's going to be off to chilli's restaurant again next week.
