Drinking: Twinings camomile tea
Listening to: the sound machine set on ocean sounds and my cat snoring.
I’m actually writing this close to midnight. I’m hardly ever able to write these posts at 4 pm because I am at work then, but at least I can schedule them to post in time for tea.
I’ve been looking back through photos I took in 2009, but never blogged. It’s really humbling to have been part of so many different families’ lives this year. I took these images on September 7th when we went over to a friend’s house to meet their new baby girl. She is so sweet and beautiful that I couldn’t help but sneak my camera out of my purse. I can only imagine how much she has changed by now.

In truth, I live for little moments like these in between these frames, when I am there to share something that is so personal, but universal and every day: the cicadas are humming and the grass is green and a new little baby is making sweet sounds and everything about the way that her parents look at her, love her, is perfect and she knows it. It’s such an amazing gift from God to be there for those 1/1000th of a second tiny moments that feel to me {when I’m in them, refocusing and changing speeds} big enough to encapsulate the universe. And, it seems to me, they are that big and that small all at the same time. That’s how love works.
