Tea Time No. 5: Blessed

Drinking: Twinings camomile tea

Listening to: the sound machine set on ocean sounds and my cat snoring.

I’m actually writing this close to midnight. I’m hardly ever able to write these posts at 4 pm because I am at work then, but at least I can schedule them to post in time for tea.

I’ve been looking back through photos I took in 2009, but never blogged. It’s really humbling to have been part of so many different families’ lives this year. I took these images on September 7th when we went over to a friend’s house to meet their new baby girl. She is so sweet and beautiful that I couldn’t help but sneak my camera out of my purse. I can only imagine how much she has changed by now.

In truth, I live for little moments like these in between these frames, when I am there to share something that is so personal, but universal and every day: the cicadas are humming and the grass is green and a new little baby is making sweet sounds and everything about the way that her parents look at her, love her, is perfect and she knows it. It’s such an amazing gift from God to be there for those 1/1000th of a second tiny moments that feel to me {when I’m in them, refocusing and changing speeds} big enough to encapsulate the universe. And, it seems to me, they are that big and that small all at the same time. That’s how love works.

January 5, 2010 - 6:07 pm Faye - I love this new series and plan to stop what I am doing at 4 everyday so I can grab a cup of tea and savor the latest post...these photos are especially enchanting.

January 5, 2010 - 9:14 pm Emily - I'm with Faye on this one! I'm loving the new posts, and I can safely say you were a huge part of my life in 2009. Thanks so much for all of your hard work. Keep it up, kiddo!!!

January 6, 2010 - 9:39 am Katy Heskett Gibbs - Love that you are posting at teatime everyday, hate that I am sweating through the end of my busy day with stress pulling my shoulders down at that same time. Sounds like someone who needs to take tea time. (and Love that I get to read your posting later when I can) Katy

January 6, 2010 - 12:30 pm Jennifer - What a great idea! Lovely posts. Have you been to MonTea on Euclid? It's a fabulous new tea shop, featuring loads of different teas (all loose). A young couple (both recently laid off from their jobs) just opened it, and a couple of weeks later had their first baby! They are having a dramatic start, to say the least:-) She (Danielle) is a true tea aficionado and has lots of knowledge to share. I look forward to more of your posts! Jennifer (@soup_lady)

January 6, 2010 - 7:09 pm teaworthy - Thanks so much for the comments!! I can't wait to check out MonTea! Thanks so much!
