I know….right?
We buckled under the pressure of 11 consecutive sick days in the house and got a rabbit ears kit for the TV, so if I’m weak and turn it on, I end up watching things that I otherwise would not have been watching during the cable days. Hence the Tyra Banks.
But she had a show recently on children who are clairvoyant and I could not look away. Completely fascinating. But what I took away from the episode most was something from guest Alison DuBois, the inspiration for the show Medium. She advised a teenager dealing with bullies {and the challenges that come with sensing the darkest things about the world and victims of crimes} to remember that it’s important to let go of certain energy that you pick up on with breathing exercises and prayer. She said that prayer is the time for asking for guidance and meditation is the time to listen for answers. I love the idea of keeping them a bit separate: prayer for questions and surrender and then, after some time, being still to listen. I used to think they were to be done at the same time, and it made it really difficult to find quiet.
I’m in the mad dash before the end of the billable year in my attorney job and making sure to fulfill holiday cards and albums for my photography business. I am excited for those days before Christmas when everything is so quiet. I look forward to that time all year. Here’s to finding peace.
